Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

We are located in Brandon, FL. We do not have a store front location. We are licensed to bake in a state inspected commercial kitchen and service the Tampa Bay area.

Do you ship your desserts?

Unfortunately, we do not currently provide shipping.

 

Do you deliver?

Free pickup at our location in Brandon FL. Delivery is upon request and starts at $25. Mileage will be calculated via Mapquest and the delivery fee will be included in your initial invoice.  

 

When should I place my order for my event?

Please place orders at minimum 1 week prior to your event date. Please keep in mind that we are a very small business. As we try to prioritize our customers orders, we need sufficient notice to be able to accommodate, especially those with large orders. Please be courteous enough to place an order in advance.

Do you accept deposits?

No, deposits are no longer accepted at this time. Orders must be paid in full to confirm your order date. Once you receive your invoice via email, the full payment must be made. 

How do I place an order?

How do I cancel/change my order?

You can contact us via email: TheSouthernSugarCompany@gmail.com or phone: 813-407-6048. No changes to quantities or dessert choices can be made within 1 week of your order date. 

What method of payment is collected?

We accept Cash, Visa, Discover, American Express or Mastercard. Zelle and Cashapp. No Checks.

Why is there a minimum order of 10 for dessert jars?

Because of the small batch size of our desserts, we ask that individual flavored dessert jars be ordered in quantities of 10. 

Should I refrigerate my jars/pans?

Custard/Mousse: Yes. The cream based desserts are made in small batches, using only the finest ingredients. Our products are made without preservatives and should be enjoyed on the day purchased. They can stay on display for up to a few hours, but must be refrigerated before and after display. The Southern Sugar Company cannot guarantee the products' taste or consistency after the day of purchase. If you plan on storing them overnight, cover and refrigerate.

 

Cheesecakes: Cheesecakes must be stored in the refrigerator and not on display in order to maintain its consistency. Cheesecake can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The Southern Sugar Company cannot guarantee the products' taste or consistency after the day of purchase. If you plan on storing them overnight, cover and refrigerate.

Cobbler/Pans: Yes. We specialize in old-fashioned baked goods, made from scratch and baked in small batches, using only the finest ingredients. Our products are made without preservatives and should be enjoyed on the day purchased. The Southern Sugar Company cannot guarantee the products' consistency after the day of purchase. If you plan on storing them, cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Cupcakes: No. Cupcakes do not need to be refrigerated unless they have cream cheese frosting. Cupcakes should not be displayed in high heat conditions.

Do you make anything wheat/dairy/soy/nut free?

We do not bake in an allergen-free environment. All of our products are baked in an environment where wheat, dairy, and nuts are present. Due to the presence of these allergens, we do not recommend consuming any of our desserts if you are allergic to wheat, nuts, soy, or dairy.

What are the serving sizes for some of your more popular products?

4oz jar: 1 Person

9x11 Pan: 12-15 People

8x3 Cheesecake: 8-16 People

 

What if I am not satisfied with my order?

If there is a problem with an order you purchased, please call us at 813-407-6048 or email us at TheSouthernSugarCompany@gmail.com. Refunds may not be given due to improper product storage or transportation.
